First responders use technology from emergency relief kit to save lives

Dear Microsoft,

At NetHope, we monitor all sorts of natural disasters as part of our jobs – but it is never easy to prepare ourselves for the aftermath of any kind of disasters – emotionally and mentally. In many disasters that involve our NGO members, NetHope stays very close to the situation and work hard at making sure our members and those affected by the natural disasters get what they need quickly. Our role is to help NGO members do their job on the field – by making sure technology is working efficiently and effectively.

Thank you so much for your help in the emergency relief kits. Your contribution helps in purchasing additional kits to provide instant communications for first responders where natural disasters have wiped out the existing communications infrastructure. The kits are used to accelerate communications and coordinate early relief efforts among charitable organizations. With access to these kits, relief workers are able to quickly establish voice and data communications using equipment they can carry with them on airplanes heading towards the disaster area. Technology touches our everyday lives, but in times like this, technology plays an important role in saving lives.

Thank you again for your support in NetHope!

Preference in enrollment is given to underrepresented populations, especially young women and natives of rural areas. Graduates will be well equipped in technical and soft skills training, intern placement, and mentoring and outplacement support.

Our proven track record is preparing information and communication technology (ICT) trained individuals for the technology community.

Thank you so much for your support. You have all played a role in reaching more students in the developing world and helping them transition into a career in technology!
